Fixing fertilizers. Without fossil fuels.

Green fertilizers and biostimulants from air, water, and green electricity. One biological platform, room temperature, zero CO2 emissions.

Green fertilizers at a fraction of the cost

Incumbents are getting more expensive

Conventional nitrogen fertilizers depend on natural gas. Prices surged roughly 50% in early 2022 after the shut off of Russian natural gas. EU production dropped 70%. The EU Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) will add further cost pressure to carbon-intensive imports. The old model is becoming harder to sustain.

Our inputs are getting cheaper

Synanthra's platform runs on green electricity, which is falling in cost every year. We fix nitrogen directly from air, at room temperature, in a single biological step. No hydrogen production, no Haber-Bosch reactor, no fossil fuels. The result: green nitrate fertilizers and biostimulants produced at a fraction of the cost of conventional systems.

Each phase funds and de-risks the next

A staged platform strategy: near-term revenue from biostimulants builds the foundation for on-farm fertilizer production, then industrial-scale deployment.

Stage 1: Biostimulant production

Today, Synanthra produces microbial biostimulants through a circular economy model: agricultural and industrial co-products go in, crop nutrients come out.

Stage 2: On-farm fertilizer

The same biological platform integrates into a bioelectrochemical reactor that produces green nitrate fertilizers on-farm, powered by green electricity. Decentralised production: no supply chain dependency, no fossil fuels, and nutrients produced where they are needed.

Stage 3: Industrial scale

The platform scales to industrial green ammonia production for the fertilizer industry, shipping fuel, and energy storage. The same core biology, applied to global-scale decarbonisation of one of the most carbon-intensive industrial processes.
